Hey look Morgan Freeman! If it weren’t for the Boston Celtics hat with the No.6 people may have mistaken him for the NBA Hall of Famer Bill Russell.
During today’s live coverage of President Barack Obama’s Inauguration, ABC host George Stephanopoulos mistakenly identified the 11-time NBA champion, Bill Russell, as actor Morgan Freeman.
“There’s Morgan Freeman, I think, right there on the Capitol steps,” said Stephanopoulos. Stephanopoulos quickly apologized for the mistake after being corrected by a colleague.
Russell and Freeman do kind of look alike, but come on. Stephanopoulos must not be a big basketball fan. In his defense both are outspoken Obama supporters. Both are over six feet tall. Both are in their seventies. And both have that recognizable white hair and beard look.
Either way mistakes like this are funny.
